Clinical Cases in Dysfluency

為了解決Whilst while的問題,作者 這樣論述:

Clinical Cases in Dysfluency is an imperative work that introduces dysfluency in clinical and cultural contexts while encouraging reflection on clinical decision-making involving the assessment and management of clients. With inputs from eminent clinical researchers across the world, this text br

ings together diverse voices and expertise to provide readers with innovative ideas for their own practice. The book assists in refining clinical problem solving and valuing exchanges between clients and clinicians. Featuring real-life case studies covering stuttering and cluttering in children and a

dults, it showcases the importance of evidence-based practice and practitioner reflection, demonstrating a range of approaches to address problems experienced with dysfluency, and their management. The authors go on to discuss issues of stereotyping, resilience, and therapeutic commonalities in gene

ral, and in multicultural contexts, whilst also introducing the discipline of Dysfluency Studies, where stuttering is considered positively in its complexity and not as a disorder. These concepts are effectively further illustrated through accompanying online resources including videos, and weblinks

. This is an indispensable resource for students and clinicians in the domains of Fluency, Speech and Language Pathology and Communication Disorders, and will be valuable reading to anyone interested in communication disorders, dysfluencies, and application of theory to practice in these disciplines

A Study of Factors Leading to COVID-19 Impact on Students of Ming Chuan University in Taiwan

為了解決Whilst while的問題,作者葉力澍 這樣論述:

Taiwan has spent more than two years combatting COVID-19 across its territory. The Island nation was among the first to adapt strict policies in preventing the spread of infectious for disease, and for a time its rigid immigration policy and island geography allowed its population of 23.5 m

illion to live their lives much as they had before the novel coronavirus. While Taiwan’s population did not see the brunt of the virus’s impact until months after the rest of the world, the nation’s vulnerable demographics are like any other. This study examines the psychological impact of COVID-19

across a sample of students from Ming Chuan university to assess the impact of anxiety and strength of social support networks as independent variables, on student satisfaction from a quantitative approach. The study also looks at the role that residency would have in moderating the impact to intern

ational or domestic students of the sample. The results of this study emphasize the critical role that students’ social support networks have on student satisfaction. Whilst stress and anxiety did have a negative influence on student satisfaction, student social support networks strength had a far

stronger positive impact. These findings would call for universities to put greater emphasis on reinforcing student social support networks to minimize the impact that COVID-19 and its related containment policies have had on student satisfaction. On the dimension of nationality, University student

s could benefit in Taiwan if Taiwanese students were given greater accommodations for their sources of anxiety to account for the stronger impact anxiety has on their student satisfaction as demonstrated in this study. Taiwanese students also exhibited greater correlation between their student socia

l network strength and their overall student satisfaction levels, indicating that either they place greater value on their social networks, or that international students lack access to the same quality of social support networks of Taiwanese students.
